Pets Emergency Hospital has a wide variety of employment opportunities.  To provide the highest quality of emergency medicine, our team members are knowledgeable, highly skilled, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.  As our hospital continues to grow with new medical technologies and treatments, our staff also expands.  While we may not be actively seeking employees, we are always open to reviewing resumes or discussing employment options for all positions in the hospital, and we accept and consider all applicants.  If you are interested in a position on our team, please feel free to call and submit your resume.
Relief Veterinarians:
We are always looking for emergency relief veterinarians to join our relief team.  These shifts include days and overnights every day of the week.  Number of shifts available varies by the month.  Previous emergency experience preferred, but consideration given to candidates with experience in busy daytime practices.  Ability to perform emergency surgeries (GDV, splenectomy, gastrotomy/enterotomy/R&A, proptosed globe, etc.) preferred.  We have a great group of staff ER vets who are available to come in for surgeries when caseload requires it or if the veterinarian covering the shift is uncomfortable performing the indicated surgery.  We also work closely with several local board certified surgeons.  Our hospital offers a full in house lab (to include thyroid, cortisol, bile acids, PT/APTT), digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and the options to call in either a sonographer or a board certified radiologist for complete abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms.  We also have an endoscope available and have a team of individuals who can be called in to run an endoscopy case.

PEH is known for exceptional nursing care and our relief veterinarians will enjoy getting to work with a very skilled technical support staff.  We also employ an intern each year, so many of the shifts include oversight of an intern and their help managing caseload. If you are interested in joining our team please feel free to submit a resume via email care of Dr. Joe Sharrock at  We ask that you provide proof of Colorado licensure and individual liability insurance.

Technician (relief to full-time)

While we are not actively looking, we are always open to reviewing resumes and discussing options and are always in need of quality technicians to join our relief list.  We give preference to certified technician applicants and those with previous emergency experience.  Applicants require excellent handling and client communication skills and a desire to learn and grow.  Technician responsibilities include anesthesia and sedation management, working one-on-one with clients during appointments, client education, and patient advocacy.
Client Service Representative
Previous customer/client relation experience preferred as well as administrative skills (fax, email, forms, record management, phone interaction, and financial transactions.)  Medical or veterinary knowledge preferred, but not required.  You must be comfortable with working closely with and assisting the veterinarians and technicians with patient handling and restraint as well as lobby triage assessment.  Our Client Service Representatives are the “face” of PEH and we expect you to represent the competence, caring, and confidence of the rest of our medical team.
